Well, mostly it's my birthday— 3/3. But also, the number 3 tends to follow me around, especially two 3's together. I like to think it is because I was born on 3/3. I often happen to look at the clock at 3:33, even in the middle of the night. Weird. The bill at the restaurant was $33.33. Turned on the TV one day, an icon appeared at the bottom, 33 days till Christmas. Check the temperature outside this morning, 33º. It goes on and on. Because today is 3/3, I thought I would share one of the more interesting examples of how the number 3 has appeared in my life.

I've often taken photos out on my family farm in New London, MO. It's no longer a working farm, but my Mom grew up there and it is one of my favorite places on earth. There is much history, no doubt. We all love it, many of my family members still live out there, including my PawPaw Bob. In fact, it is called "Granny Paw Farms". It is so fun, and I'm happy that a chunk belongs to me.

So, last Thanksgiving as I am wondering the grounds with my camera, I spotted this old gas tank. Hmm, I thought, I've never really looked at that very closely. I like to inspect old, rusted things and imagine them in their prime. When was that tank last used? Now that the fence is down and there are no cows in this field, I go check it out.

I take a few photos from a far. Get closer, more pics. Closer. Closer. And there it is on the dial... 33...NO WAY!

SHUT. UP. I said to the old tank. Get right outta town! What are the odds?! I mean really? When was the last time it was used? 20 years ago? 30? 33? And by whom? The very last time any one of my family members used that fuel tank, it stopped on 33! And I happen to walk right up to it with my camera.

Wow.... I just love that.
